Alpine Bikes Winter Series Round 2, Innerleithen

With Ben having just signed up with a new team earlier in the week (Ticket2Ride/Descent Gear), meeting new team mates was one of the highlights of the weekend.
The course was typical of Innerleithen, long and tight, winding it’s way down the hill with the trees presenting an endless array of different corners and obstacles, forcing the riders to use all their skill, concentration and stamina to get to the finish line.
Tyre choice was the usual first subject of discussion of the day, with Ben opting to run Swamp Things on both front and rear. These were to stay on all weekend as the track seemed to stay pretty much the same throughout the 2 days. Ben had a good days practice on Saturday and carried on where he left off on Sunday, the move up to juniors means Ben has more time after practice has finished before his race run allowing him to have 3 practice runs and a break (enter dad stage left to clean bike).



With only a single race run it really is all or nothing, but Ben set about the task in hand and put in a time of 3mins 35 secs giving him 8th place in juniors.
